Hoping and Hopping

What does a froggy want for Christmas?  Well, this amphibian wants more books, a nice fly souffle and, of course, more people to comment on his blog.  I have been traveling a lot lately.  I attended the Rayne Frog Festival which was a hopping good time, and I am planning a trip to Natchitoches for the Lights Festival.  Are there any events in your area that I should attend?

Can You Guess...

Good morning!  I hope all of my readers are having a great day!  I am planning to go to Rayne this weekend for the Frog Festival.  I hear they have a hopping contest.  Maybe I should enter.
Anyway, I posted a new profile picture of myself.  Can you guess where I was visiting when I took the picture?  Look at it carefully and leave a guess in the comments section.  Have a hoppy weekend!~A.A.

Hello again!

I hope all of my fans big and small have been enjoying the wet weather.  I saw the comment from my little friend, rainfrog.  I really like to hear from everyone.  I took his advice, and I read not one but THREE of the Clovis Crawfish stories...boy, are they great!  They made great reading material for my trip up to northern Louisiana.
Can you guess what I did there?  I visited LIBRARIES!  So many libraries...big and small and in-between.  I am trying to get all of the pictures scanned in so you can see my adventures.
Next week, I am going to start reading a classic piece of literature that includes one of my cousins, Mr. Toad.  Can you guess what novel I am going to be reading?  Leave me a message if you think that you know the answer.
I am also going to be going to the Rayne Frog Festival!!!  Doesn't that sound exciting!?  I am one busy amphibian, but I love hearing from all of our library users young and old, so please leave me a comment. Hope you have a hoppy day!~ A.A.

Where to...

This weekend marks my first official adventure in my quest to visit all of the parish libraries of Louisiana. I intend to head up to Bossier parish, visiting Sabine and Desoto along the way. On my way home, I may stop at the Natchitoches Meat Pie Festival; but first, I am going to hop by Webster, Bienville, and Red River parishes. Wish me luck! Ribbit ribbit

Who's That Frog?

Adventurous Amphibian is a multicultural creature. He was hatched on the banks of the Cane River in Natchitoches, lived in Avoyelles, currently resides in Vernon, and will be representing Beauregard parish in all of his travels. He is a frog of the world.
His goal is to visit (and take a picture at) each of the parish libraries in Louisiana before the beginning of the Summer Reading Program 2010.
His inspirations for this undertaking are Flycatcher from Fables, the Frog Prince from Grimm's fairy tales, and all other great amphibians of literature.
He intends to visit some state historical sites and attend some festivals (including the Rayne Frog Festival, of course) along with the parish libraries. Leave A.A. messages and watch for upcoming updates on his travels.
